Was able to figure this out. The header extensions in my thematic theme spin out wp_page_menu in the access div which represents the top horizontal menu. When I changed that call to wp_nav_menu it worked.

Thanks for posting this, it really helped, as am upgrading a site that uses thematic, and want to put categories in the menu. Much appreciated!

Hey there. I like this netbook. First off, it is not 10.1″ not like most of the netbooks. Second it is only 1.5 kg. But one thing i do not like is that it features Intel Atom N270. Overall, it is a nice netbook.

This netbook is really a good choice. I suggest you to go with 6-cell one, since most of the time you will need this baby on the way.

I copied the code verbatim into my child theme’s functions.php file, and then went to create a menu (included three pages and the “Uncategorized” category, just to test), but it didn’t work. I am testing it on a sandbox server, WAMP. do I need to enable something in order to get it to work?

I get bullet before the thumbnails. I have tried the solution you propose in the answer to Florian but it didn’t work for me. Any suggestion??

By the way, I have had also many problems showing the thumbnails and I finally used the way the get the thumbnail here http://www.alivethemes.com/how-to-create-style-related-posts-using-yarpp-plugin/ and combining it with your css linkwithin-alike.

I just noticed that everything is OK on my device.
Signal: 2 to 3 bars
Ping(google.com)Idle: 90 to 110ms – no request timed out
Download speed: 125kBps max
Ping(google.com): 900 to 1100ms – a little bit request timed out
but when I browse, most of the time I always get “The Connection has timed out”. It only means that their backbone system/base station/access point/etc.. is really the problem.
