@RogueLA: Good for you vendors/printers in your area might adapt sooner. Here in my place it might take longer than usual for them to transition into the GOE system.

Well — I gotta say, I was skeptical when the mailer arrived this spring. First thought, geez… $500+ later from purchasing my pantone books, they’ve come out with a new system for me to dump another $500+ into. Not cool… Then, I decided to buy the new ColorMunki… well after playing with it and working with their designer software and the new Goe Coated book that came with the ColorMunki, I have to say it’s quite exciting!!! The subtleties that the new Goe system can hit in some hues is nothing short of amazing. Now I’m ready to invest in more Goe books. And my vendors better follow suit, or I’ll just find new vendors

Yup, we do encounter printers and other service providers who can’t duplicate accurate PMS colors. I really don’t get it when that happens.

I try to avoid these types of service providers since a lot of my work is PMS dependent (corporate branding and all that goes with it)

And only a few printers in my locality are open or have adapted to the new Goe system.

It does look interesting. There however will problems using it until it becomes widely used…

I already run in problems with the classic PMS colors when often different people have different version and exactly the color you need to refer to is not in other guys pantone book and now talk about brand new color specifier
