I’m not ashamed to admit that I crop my photos in Lightroom. But I mostly crop just to straighten them vertically or to force an image to conform with certain aspect ratios suited for sharing on social media, like stories, among others.
I don’t have a gazillion pixels on my camera and cropping for any other reason other than what I just mentioned above would be like butchering my own work.
Here below is how this photo was cropped.
This was taken while on a break from a workshop in Tagaytay, hosted by the UNDP Philippines’ Governance team where I used to be a consultant. If I remember correctly, we took a tricycle from the hotel to the meat market and went around and took photos.
After that, everything else was a blur, 😉 maybe another tricycle, some valet… but on a tricycle, walking for miles… again just blurry but fun flashbacks.
Know, know, know, know, know-know… know your cuts of meat 🎶
Know your cuts of meat is a reference to a segment on The Lateshow with David Letterman. It’s one of those songs that sometimes gets stuck in my head.
That just plays in my head on repeat whenever I find myself in the meat section of a grocery or at a wet market.
